Have you ever felt small?
The Bible says,
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9Maybe there was something you were nervous about. Maybe you had a big test at school, had to try something new, or felt worried about something you couldn't control.
A long time ago, I felt small too.
My name is David, and before I became a king, I was just a young shepherd boy. I spent my days taking care of sheep while my older brothers did much bigger and more important things.
Then one day, a giant named Goliath came to challenge God's people. He was stronger, taller, and much more frightening than anyone else around. The soldiers were afraid. Even grown men didn't want to face him.
But I remembered something important.
I remembered that God had always been with me.
God helped me protect my sheep. God helped me when I was alone in the fields. God helped me through difficult days before, and I knew He would help me again.
So while everyone else looked at how big the giant was, I looked at how big God is. The giant seemed impossible to defeat, but nothing is impossible for God.
Sometimes the things that worry us can feel like giants too. They can seem so big that we forget we don't have to face them alone.
Whenever you feel afraid, remember that God walks beside you. He sees every worry, every challenge, and every fear. And just like He helped me, He will help you too.
You don't have to be the biggest, strongest, fastest, or smartest person in the room.
You simply need to trust the One who is always with you.
